The Pahokee High School Class of 1960 - 68, 50 year Class Reunion was celebrated in style at the Crowne Plaza in Fort Myers, Florida. They braved Tropical Storm Issac to reminisce and celebrated with each other. Yvonne Thompson Myers prepared a very special video tribute to her classmates that had many in tears as they remembered those present as well as those who have passed before them. The Pahokee High School (also known as Pahokee Junior Senior High School) is a historic school in Pahokee, Florida. It is located at 900 Larrimore Road. On November 15, 1996, The Old Pahokee High School building was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
They stood and sang in unison their Alma Matter led by fellow classmate and opera singer Marjorie K who has sung at Venice's Grand Teatro La Fenice, Carnegie Hall in NY, Rome's Teatro dell'Opera, Cagliari's Teatro Lirico and the New York Grand Opera.
Alma Mater
High O'er the towering palms, our voices swell
Praising these golden days, we love so well
Dear sons and daughters true, we'll always try
Hail to our Alma Mater, Pahokee High

and celebrated being Blue Devils.
Another big highlight of the evening was when "Elvis" made his grand entrance and performed for his classmates much to their delight. He danced and sang and wooed the ladies with sequined scarves that he placed around their necks much to their delight. Thank you Mrs. Becky Mackey Tuten for the opportunity to share in your memories and document your event. The pictures and video collected for the event were just wonderful and it showed how much the classmates enjoyed each other as young adults and why they still enjoy coming together for their reunions.
